Kaduna-Abuja highway: Special Forces eliminate bandits as Buhari orders re-inforcement

Following President Commander in Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces Muhammadu Buhari’s directive, special forces have eliminated a number of bandits laying siege at the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

The Federal Government has ordered re-inforcement, additional equipment and increased surveillance amid national outrage over kidnappings and killings in the North-West region.

It was gathered that several bandits operating on the highway were annihilated between Thursday and Friday in a major onslaught.

According to a military officer, who spoke to newsmen, “We have so far killed more than a dozen armed bandits who attempted to escape on motorcycles after sighting the movements of troops, adding that “most of them are behind recent abductions on the highways”.

Intelligence operatives, however, disclosed that some of the corpses were identified as residents of nearby villages, as some people identified the corpses as known faces within the communities.
